Harvie S, composer, arranger, bassist, educator and producer has performed/recorded with Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Dexter Gordon, Tony Bennett, Michael Brecker, Paquito D’Rivera, Pat Martino, Art Farmer, Mark Turner, Fred Hersch, Jim Hall, Joe Lovano, Phil Woods, Maria Schneider, Zoot Sims, Toots Thielemans, Bill Charlap, Mike Stern and countless others. He can be heard on 19 Cds as a leader. 12 as a Co-Leader and over 400 CDs as a sideman. His Duo CD with jazz legend Kenny Barron “Now was the time” on High Note records and topped the Jazz Week charts for over two months. His follow up Cd “Witchcraft” was #1 on Jazz week and stayed on the charts for 14 weeks. In January 2012 a Duo Cd “Yesterdays” was released on High Note Records with Jazz Masters Award recipient Sheila Jordan. He collaborated with master guitarist Roni Ben-Hur for a CD “Introspection” and has been touring worldwide. He Plays and produced “New York Notes” Alan Broadbent Trio on High Note Savant Records which was #4 on Jazz Week and has been on the Jazz Week Charts for over 4 months and received 4 stars in Downbeat plus numerous rave reviews.
