Rosanne Lana, Executive Director, and Charlie Lagond, Musical Director, co-founded Lagond Music School in Elmsford, NY, a non-profit organization dedicated to music education and live music performance. Over the past twenty years Rosanne has admitted and overseen thousands of eager middle- and high school-aged musicians in its after-school contemporary music program. Rosanne and Charlie seek to identify and serve a diverse community of students, and provide a stimulating, creative environment that generates enthusiasm and passion for music. They have created a comprehensive curriculum offering a skill-based music education covered by private lessons, band workshops, popular music songwriting, music production classes, composition, music industry, an all-day college preparatory program for music majors, college consulting services, and varied summer programs.
Over the past twenty years, Rosanne has organized over one thousand performances, and over a dozen national and international tours for the school’s students. Beginning in 2013 she broke beyond their traditional skills-based curriculum and created a 100% scholarship-based program called Power through Performance which helps musicians with special needs develop their professional careers. She also co-administers the Music and Miles: Changing Minds initiative to promote positive change to help people struggling with mental illness and to bring attention to suicide prevention.
Prior to co-founding Lagond Music School, Rosanne worked as a personal assistant to entertainment lawyer Alan Siegal and eventually served as A&R for his firm Pryor Cashman LLP. Their clients included Ashford and Simpson, Melissa Manchester, The Mandrell Sisters, Placido Domingo, and more. After leaving Pryor Cashman, Rosanne founded Connections Unlimited, a business that represented graphic artists on national print and multimedia campaigns for many major commercial brands.
