Yukimi Maeda (Classical)

YUKIMI MAEDA yukimimaeda.com began her piano studies at the age of four. In 1993 she won the first prize in PTNA PIANO COMPETITION. She was the recipient of many piano competition prizes. Yukimi graduated Suma Cum Laude of her class at Oita Prefectural  College of Arts and Culture.

In 2003 she was the top instructor for Kawaii Music School where she taught classical piano for all ages.

Many of her students won important competitions and went on to careers in music.

After college, Ms. Maeda decided to pursue Jazz piano and studied with Japan’s top Jazz pianist and not long after recorded her first CD in Tokyo.

Then she went to NY to study every year with the piano masters over a 10 year period.

Her second CD “I’ll Close my Eyes” had a lot of radio play and received many accolades.“Great technique and powerful sound, she creates the most elegant and deep music!!

While living in Kitakyushu, Japan she ran her own highly acclaimed private school which had over 30 students studying with her. She did this for 10 years and was also the top Jazz pianist in the area performing with her trio. She now resides in NY as a freelance pianist and educator since November 2019.
